While enjoying boutique accommodations in the heart of Connecticut’s capital city here at The Goodwin, you’ve got Hartford’s world-class attractions—from fascinating historic sites and beautiful greenspaces to major entertainment and athletic centers—right at your fingertips. Now, those attractions also include the very first food hall in the state: Parkville Market!
Introducing Parkville Market
Situated at 1400 Park Street in the former home base of the Capitol City Lumber Co., Parkville Market serves as a community gathering place, culinary hub, and retail and event venue in one of Hartford’s great historic neighborhoods.
The food hall—the first of its kind in Connecticut—springs from the dream and vision of longtime local resident Carlos Mouta, who came to the Parkville from East Africa in the 1970s and has been here ever since. The $4.4 million project opened just this past spring and is currently offering both indoor and outdoor dining (with social distancing and other COVID-safe practices being rigorously observed).
Here at Parkville Market, you’ll find a whole slew of outstanding and varied Hartford eateries, including Brazilian Gula Grill, The Butcher & the Bean, Twisted Italian Cafe, Jamaican Jerk Shack, Pho Go, Hartford Poke Co., J’s Crab Shack, and Bombay Express. More vendors as well as retail merchants are slated to open here soon.
Throw in regular live music and other planned events, and Parkville Market is already adding a truly vibrant, unique, and cosmopolitan “flavor” (if you will) to Hartford. It’s another exciting addition to the Parkville neighborhood, once a busy manufacturing district and now host to some of the city’s most trendsetting businesses, from DesignSourceCT and HARDENCO to Hog River Brewing and Real Art Ways.
