For instance, you can head over to Goodwin Park beginning November 22nd to take in the annual Holiday Light Fantasia, which employs better than a million lights to create a stunning two-mile installation. It’s downright unforgettable, and the kids’ll love it!
And then there’s the 45th Annual Festival of Trees & Traditions underway November 29th through December 9th at the Wadsworth Atheneum, which turns Hartford’s great art museum into a wreathed, garlanded, and tinseled wonderland host to choir and dance performances to ring in the season in elegant style.
Hartford, CT Family Museum Going
Speaking of museums, the Wadsworth Atheneum isn’t the only one with plenty of all-ages appeal. The Connecticut Science Center and the Children’s Museum both provide loads of hands-on learning fun as well as their own seasonal installations. And then there’s our area’s rich spread of heritage sites, including the Mark Twain House & Museum, the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center, and Connecticut’s Old State House.
Concerts & Other Family Entertainment
The XL Center always has plenty on tap in the onstage entertainment department besides its athletic events, and that includes such family-targeted shows as Disney on Ice Presents Worlds of Enchantment (January 10th through the 13th).
