The UConn Huskies men’s and women’s basketball teams are always a joy to watch, and they’re enjoying strong seasons thus far. As of November 27th, the Husky women, coached by Geno Auriemma, have racked up an impressive 10-1 record; the men’s team, helmed by head coach Kevin Ollie, stands at 6-3.
The University of Connecticut Huskies: Top-Caliber Basketball
The XL Center is the Huskies’ off-campus “kennel,” so to speak; their home turf is the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion. Both men’s and women’s teams have a prestigious legacy: The Husky men, who first hit the court in 1901, have triumphed at four NCAA Tournament Championships (most recently in 2014), while the Husky women— a formidable force since 1974—are more decorated than any other women’s basketball outfit in the country: They’ve won the NCAA Division I National Championships a cool 11 times, and also claim the two longest winning streaks in college basketball regardless of gender—the most recent being 111 consecutive wins between November 23, 2014 and March 31, 2017.

The men’s UConn Husky basketball team will hit the XL Center court for showdowns with Monmouth on December 2nd, Wichita State on December 30th, ECU on January 6th, and Villanova on January 20th, to name some upcoming Hartford games; eyeball the full schedule right here.
