If you’re a fan of The Goodwin—and naturally we hope that you are, whether you’ve stayed with us once or many times—we invite you to cast a vote for our boutique hotel in this year’s “Best of Hartford” awards presented by the Hartford Courant!
You can vote through the end of February, but as with just about anything else that can be riskily procrastinated, we recommend (if you’re so inclined) submitting yours right away so you don’t forget. We’d be grateful for the show of support!
The Goodwin Nominated in the Hartford Courant’s “Best of Hartford” 2020 Roundup
The Hartford Courant’s “Best of Hartford” awards cover a lot of territory in several general categories, including Entertainment (with voting for the best art gallery, hiking destination, concert venue, golf course, bowling alley, festival, and more) and Retail (antique store, florist, toy store, garden nursery, pet boutique, etc.). There are a slew of individual awards in the Local People category, including for best weatherperson, bartender, musician, blogger—even the best Tweeter in the city! We’re proud to see our very own Anderson in the running for Hartford’s best chef in that Local People list as well as our Goodwin restaurant among the nominees in the Food & Drink field (which we’re mentioning just in case—hint, hint—you want to cast a couple of other votes as well).
We’re honored to be nominated in the category for Best Hotel of Hartford this year. It’s been our pleasure to usher The Goodwin Hotel, our historic and fully renovated downtown landmark, into a new era. The Goodwin dates from 1881, when it was constructed as a luxury apartment building; our instantly recognizable terra-cotta facade harkens back to that original structure. It was eventually converted into a hotel, a hospitality tradition we’ve been carrying on since the Goodwin’s modern reopening in 2017.
We love treating our guests to the finest in Downtown Hartford boutique luxury lodgings in the form of more than 120 guestrooms, suites, and duplexes, and such on-site amenities as a 24-hour fitness center, a yoga studio, and gourmet dining.
We’re so happy to be a part of the Hartford community, including such treasured institutions as the Hartford Stage, the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, The Bushnell, the Hartford Children’s Museum, the Connecticut Science Center, and the Mark Twain House: among the many attractions—also including the XL Center, the Elizabeth Park Conservancy, and the XFINITY Theatre—which our Goodwin guests enjoy easy access to.
