A genuine Hartford, Connecticut landmark has been reborn, and locals and out-of-towners alike can now get acquainted with it amid the very finest in boutique hospitality. We’re excited to announce the grand reopening of the historic Goodwin, its iconic terra-cotta façade fronting Haynes Street no longer a mere architectural relic but once again a grand invitation.
The Reborn Goodwin: Nods to the Past in a Stylish Modern Framework
With our June 8 ribbon-cutting—attended by Governor Dannel P. Malloy—we launched the Goodwin on a brand-new relationship with both the Hartford community and an extended family of guests from near and far. Our renovations pay tribute to the unique pedigree of this grand structure, built as a high-end apartment building in 1881 and ultimately converted into a hotel. Original and restored furnishings now come holistically incorporated into the bright, vibrant contemporary design that defines the interior.
The full-of-character Goodwin now encompasses 124 upscale guestrooms, suites, and duplexes that, like the hotel at large, exude chic modern style with flourishes of vintage elegance. Better than 5,000 square feet of meeting and function space, backed up by a full array of AV resources and versatile catering options, will make the Goodwin a preeminent choice for business retreats, weddings, conferences, and other private events in the heart of Hartford.
And our accommodations position Goodwin guests near high-profile local destinations as the XL Center, the Hartford Stage, and the Mark Twain House.
Dining at the Goodwin: Harlan Brasserie & Side Bar
The Goodwin will offer more than just those centrally located boutique lodgings and versatile event facilities. Our ground floor will attend to the appetites of guests and visiting gourmets alike courtesy of Harlan Brasserie, a partnership between well-known Connecticut restaurateur Stephen Lewandowski and Executive Chef Chris Bateman. The menu weaves together New American boldness with classic French cookery, introducing an exciting new energy to downtown’s dining scene.
Complementing the French-style ambience of Harlan Brasserie, Side Bar will serve as the Goodwin’s on-site cocktail lounge, delivering top-tier mixology and small-plate bites at our corner on Asylum and Haynes.
From all-day dining to nimble catering of corporate and social functions, these establishments richly expand the Goodwin’s suite of amenities, which also include a state-of-the-art fitness center and yoga studio.
The Goodwin Hotel in Downtown Hartford: Restored, Reimagined, Resplendent
